AGNI Missile: India's Pride


AGNI missile is a family of medium to intercontinental range surface to surface ballistic missiles designed and developed by India. AGNI is a series of nuclear weapons.
AGNI family comprises of 
AGNI 1- AGNI II - AGNI III - AGNI IV - AGNI V - AGNI VI

AGNI I - AGNI II : Short to Medium Range.
AGNI III - AGNI IV : Intermediate Range.
AGNI V - AGNI VI : Intercontinental Range.

AGNI I : 
It is a single staged short ranged solid propellant ballistic missile.

    AGNI II: 

    The Agni-II is a medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) with two solid fuel stages and a Post Boost Vehicle (PBV) integrated into the missile's Re-entry Vehicle (RV). The Agni's manoeuvring RV is made of a carbon- carbon composite material that is light and able to sustain high thermal stresses of re-entry, in a variety of trajectories.

    AGNI IV:
     It is a multi staged intermediate ranged solid propellant ballistic missile. Earlier known as AGNI II prime. The missile is light-weight and has two stages of solid propulsion and a payload with re-entry heat shield.

    It is an intercontinental solid propellant ballistic missile. It is primarily designed for enhancing India's nuclear deterrence against China.

     It is a four stage intercontinental solid propellant ballistic missile. It's design phase has been completed, currently it is in hardware development phase. After the deployment of this missile, we will become the one of the few nations having such a long range intercontinental ballistic missile and can compete with China's DF 41

What is 'TOUR of DUTY' ?

After getting so many requests, I am writing this blog. Kindly consider that all of the information mentioned in this post is not official. TOUR of DUTY(ToD) is a proposal yet and no notification has been released by army yet. Indian army is considering this proposal to enlist civilians to join Indian Army on a voluntary basis for a period of 3 years. It is just like internship which includes 1 year of training and 3 years of service in Indian Army. Proposed model of ToD is to be implemented on a trial basis by releasing 100 vacancies for Officer's Post and 1000 vacancies for Soldier's Post. If successful, vacancies would be increased.
